The Basics of Disney Cruise Line
Have you been curious about a Disney Cruise Line vacation and wondering what it’s like? This post will take you through the basics of sailing with Disney Cruise Line and why it’s a great option for your next family vacation!
All That Disney Magic
On a Disney Cruise, you’ll find the same magic at the Disney theme parks. There are character meet and greets with photo opportunities throughout the ship. There you can meet up with characters like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy. Kids can also get extra time with characters in the Oceaneer’s Lab and Oceaneer’s Club, special kids-only spaces on each Disney Cruise Line ship. There are also character dining experiences on board each ship, including the Royal Court Royal Tea with Disney princesses.
You’ll also be able to enjoy Broadway-caliber Disney performances while you sail. Each ship has its own unique shows, so you can see new performances when you sail on different ships. For instance, on Disney Magic you can see Tangled: The Musical while on Disney Wish you’ll find a performance of The Little Mermaid.
And if there are specific characters your family is really crazy about, Disney Cruise Line also offers special themed Marvel Day at Sea and Pixar Day at Sea where you will be able to meet even more of your favorite characters from these films.
Options for Adults Only Time
One comment you’ll hear again and again about Disney Cruise Line is that not only will your family be able to enjoy the magic of Disney together, but there are also opportunities for adults to relax and have some downtime on their own. Disney Cruise Line is known for their amazing youth clubs for all ages of kids from 6 months to 17 years old. With four different youth clubs designated for certain ages, there are a ton of activities for kids to do on their own while their parents take advantage of the adult-exclusive areas of the ship.
While the kids are enjoying themselves, adults can enjoy the Senses Spa and Salon, take some time for a group exercise class, relax at the Quiet Cove adults-only pool, or have a meal at Palo the adult-exclusive restaurant on board. There are also evening activities and entertainment at nightclubs and lounges exclusive to adults. With many of the youth clubs open late into the evening, you can find the time to have your own mini vacation within your family vacation, too!
An All-Inclusive Experience
Finally, you’ll be happy to know that so much of this is included in the overall price of your Disney Cruise Line vacation! Whether you’re sailing to Alaska, the Caribbean, Mexico, or other destinations, the cost of your vacation includes:
Broadway-quality Shows,
Spacious Staterooms with 24-hr Room Service,
All Kids Clubs,
Pools, Waterslides and Recreation,
And for certain sailings, activities, food and entertainment at Disney’s exclusive islands Castaway Cay and Lighthouse Point!
There are extras you can add to your vacation, but they are truly “extra”. You can still have a great vacation with everything already included in the price of your vacation.
If you’re thinking of booking a Disney Cruise Line vacation in the future, you’re in luck! Sailings for the remainder of 2024 are now available and early 2025 sailings will be open to the public for booking on Monday, November 6th.
